Berkley Congregational Church

MSS-09-002

The Berkley Congregational Church was established in 1737, shortly after the foundation of the town itself. The first minster of the church, then the First Church of Christ, was Reverend Samuel Tobey. In 1788, Reverend Thomas Andros took over as minister and changed the church name to the Free Christian Church in 1814. Upon the formation of the United Church of Christ in 1957, the name changed again to the Berkley Congregational Church UCC, as it remains today.
